Hand balancing

Combining the art of arm balancing and handstands from the yogic tradition with the neuroscientific understanding of balance, proprioception, and skill acquisition, these classes are offer a different approach to balancing on the hands than a standard drills-based class.

A different set of asanas are chosen for each class. Emphasis is placed on body awareness, coordination, and technique, so that students understand what the pose is supposed to look and feel like. This is coupled with the of use brain-based principles of learning and memory to help you achieve the poses more efficiently.

4 BEAT (Rocket)

Created by my teacher Marcus Veda, 4 BEAT is a fun and playful vinyasa flow, born out of the ashtanga inspired Rocket Yoga system.

The class starts with Sun Salutations, followed by a standing sequence and then a floor sequence (with forward folds/backbends), with many opportunities to invert and balance on the hands. Everything is optional, but the breath takes precedence.

The core of the 4 beat practice is to align the breath to the regular beat of the music accompanying the class, facilitating a single pointed and unwavering concentration. You'll be sure to experience the moving meditation of vinyasa yoga.

P-TAK (Hatha)

Pancha Tattva Asana Kriya (P-TAK) is a hatha vinyasa sequence based on Samkhya philosophy and the 5 Prime Elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. In different permutations and combinations, the elements make up the entire universe and each one of us.

The 27 asanas of the PTAK Sequence will take you through the 5 elements one by one, working to balance the individual elements and their associated life-forces (pranas) within us. This internal physiological balance then leads to enhanced physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing in the practitioner.

Pranayama & Meditation

Breath is the bridge between the mind and body, the fight/flight and rest/relax systems, the conscious and subconscious mind. It is a vehicle to access higher (or non-ordinary) states of consciousness and a sense of tranquility that can have a profound impact on one's wellbeing.

This class is a mix of traditional pranayama, ancient visualisation-based meditations, as well as modern science-based breathwork methods. Join in to experience the power of breath.

Dream Yoga

Using principles of ancient practices such as yoga nidra from the East and hypnosis from the West, these sessions internalise the senses and elicit a trance state, characterised by deep relaxation and single pointed focus in the practitioner.

Borrowing awareness from the waking state, we embark on a journey down through states of consciousness to the subconscious, where our beliefs, memories and habits are stored; and where powerful psychological evolution can take place.
